Sponsorship - 2012

using the Sponsors List form

First rule:
Get as much as you can!   Take the Sponsors List form to work, to social events; get family and friends to contribute.

If you feel shy about asking, just remember you are doing this for people who have no voice at all, no chance to appeal directly to anyone for help.

Sponsors paying cash or cheques should fill in the form.
People sponsoring you through JustGiving  don't record their donation on the form
but see the right-hand column on this page.
When the form is complete, please fill in your full name and address in the box top left.

If you would like Dorset Support Group to keep your details only for contacting you before the next Walk4Water in 2014, please put a cross in the little box in the section at the bottom of the page, entitled:  WALKER.

Please post the form to the address given at the bottom, enclosing any relevant cheques made out to "WaterAid".  Please do this at the latest by 30 June 2012.

Gift Aid
increases any UK taxpayer's donation by 25p in the £.  That's a fantastic bonus.  £1,000 of donations becomes £1,250.

We need full home address with postcode to claim Gift Aid.   If in doubt about eligibility, donors should read the text at bottom right of the form.

The forms will go to WaterAid in London, where the data will be logged and the Gift Aid claimed.

 Sponsorship through JustGiving -  2012

This is an attractive, trendy and easy way of collecting sponsorship, particularly from people far away.  Donors can be anywhere in the world.  Just give them the web address of your page on JustGiving.  Exploit your cyber-network!

Your fundraising page means people can donate before the event, and it's easy for you see how much you have raised through JustGiving's website.

A word of caution:
please don't record any donations collected through JustGiving on the Sponsors List form, discussed on the left of this page.  Gift Aid on donations collected through JustGiving will be claimed by JustGiving and passed to WaterAid.

Your JustGiving page shows you who has made donations.  Please get all your sponsorship paid in by 30 June 2012.

Making your page on JustGiving:
On the right, click "Make your Page", and again on next page.
Create an account, filling in the normal personal details.
At the foot of the page, click "Create an account".
Type: "WaterAid" as the charity's name.  Click "Search".
WaterAid's name and logo appear.  Click "Choose".
Against  "An organised event" (the top option) click "Choose".
About sixth down in the list offered, find
'WaterAid - Walk for Water Dorset' - '13 May 2012'  "Choose".
Choose the web address for your page.  One is probably suggested, which may be available.
About Gift Aid, select:  "My charity <is not> contributing".
Click "Make your Page".
Edit your page:  here you can edit Page title, Team members, Target, Your Story and add photos / video.
After editing, click "Save" at foot of page.
You are then offered a variety of page layouts etc.
If not interested, click on "skip this step" at top right of page.
It is up to you how much to personalise your page.  It may increase your fundraising if you can make it appealing.
