Advice for Walk4Water,  the sponsored coastal walk for WaterAid

Just a guide, neither exhaustive nor prescriptive.

Check-points
We shall check you through each check-point as our duty of care to make sure that you are making safe progress along the route.
PLEASE check in, otherwise we shall be concerned for your well-being.

Clothing:
Get the weather forecast for the day and come with a full range of clothing you might need.  Don’t be too optimistic but if it’s going to be hot, bring a hat.

Footwear:

The ground underfoot is almost all level and flat.  It includes sandy beaches and just 250m of uneven track uphill and a quite stony downhill path 150m long.  Sensible footwear is best.

Daysack:
Even if not carrying much, you might use a small daysack to avoid carrying things in your hands.
Food and Drink:
These are entirely your responsibility.  No water is supplied by the organisers on the route.  Along the sea front of Boscombe, Bournemouth and Poo
le there are points where you can get tap water.  At  Studland Church Hall check-point tapwater is available.  Please carry as much water / food as you might require.

Toilets:
Along the sea front of Boscombe, Bournemouth and Poole there are toilets at several points.  There are toilets at the Poole-side ferry terminal, Shell Bay Car Park, Knoll Beach Café and Middle Beach Café.  There is a toilet at Studland Church Hall check-point.

Knoll Beach - Naturists

A well-marked section here is a naturist beach.  This adds variety to the views as we walk, and clothed people are perfectly welcome.
